King Bar and Bistro
Hotel Indigo

Well, Baton Rouge is now trendy enough to have its own boutique hotel. DBG was very hopeful that this would
include a suitable hotel bar where she might flirt with nameless out of town salesmen while drinking martinis and
eating fancy mixed nuts. So she paid a visit to the King Bar and Bistro. Don’t confuse it with the Kingfish Bar
across the street in the Hilton. (Can’t think of an original name for something in Baton Rouge? Name it after a
Long brother.)

The King Bar is a mixed use space that transitions from a coffee bar and bistro in the morning to a dinner space
and lounge area in the evening. The décor is modern and somewhat striking and the staff is pleasant and
helpful. They have Tin Roof on tap and wines by the glass. DBG and her Protector enjoyed some black-eyed
pea hummus while they watched guests check in for the evening. King Bar might be the best hotel bar in Red
Stick, but it is not even in the same category as The Columns Hotel or Carousel Bar inside the Monteleone.
