Gobble, Gobble, Glug, Glug, Glug

DBG is happy when she gets help. (Not the kind that entails her living with Lindsay Lohan for 28 days; the kind
where readers share their cocktail secrets!) This week, saucy lass, Monique has crafted two autumn-inspired
cocktails to wet your whistle and make family more tolerable when you celebrate Thanksgiving next Thursday.

Sage Advice
1 1/2 oz Hendricks gin
3-4 dashes orange bitters
Fresh sage infused simple syrup, to taste (recipe below)
-Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker over ice, strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with an orange
wheel and a sage leaf.

*Sage simple syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup water
4-5 fresh sage leaves (or substitute 2 sprigs of thyme for thyme simple syrup)
-Heat sugar and water on stove until sugar is dissolved; add sage leaves and let steep for 30 minutes; cool,
strain, and refrigerate until ready to use.

Thyme for a Drink
1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz orange liqueur
1/2 oz cranberry juice (NOT cocktail)
3-4 dashes orange bitters
Thyme simple syrup, to taste (see above simple syrup recipe)
–Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker over ice, strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh thyme
sprig.

PS—If you liked the libations that spilled from Monique’s cornucopia of awesomeness, check out some of the
other cocktails she crafted especially for the new BeauSoleil restaurant in Bocage Shopping Center.
